Castel Romano Shopping Village - Rome

Castel Romano Shopping Village is adjacent to the “Castel Romano” exit on the SS148 Via Pontina road that intersects the Grande Raccordo Anulare (exit 26), Rome’s main orbital link road, just 11 km from the shopping centre.  It is somewhat of a prime location due to its adjacency to the prestigious and now established Castel Romano Designer Outlet (McArthur GlenTM), which attracts over 4 million visitors, as well as due to the imminent construction of the “Cinecittà WorldTM” theme park, for which visitor numbers of over 4 million every year are envisaged.
The location and elegant architecture, which is inspired by Europe’s more innovative shopping malls, make Castel Romano Shopping Village and the most excellently rich offer for shopping and leisure throughout the Rome area.  A retail and business area of 22,600 sq m is divided into one large store, 10 medium facilities, one supermarket, 60 stores and a food court offering quick snacks and aperitifs as well as an elegant, welcoming restaurant area.  All of this is served by a large, handy car park, children’s play area and gardens.
The design specifications are as follows:

  • Catchment of 1,446,000
  • 64,242 sq m surface area
  • 22,600 sq m retail area, divided into eight blocks, comprising small and medium-large stores, at varying heights from 4 to 5 m
  • 1800 sq m of logistics area, with varying heights, from 4 and 5 m
  • 32,800 sq m parking area, of which 18,300 sq m below ground
  • 12,000 sq m green areas
  • 60 stores
  • 9 restaurants and bars
  • 1 supermarket
  • 5 pedestrian entrances
  • 1,300 parking spaces

The commercial and architectural concept was the work of well-known international architects, master planners and interior designers, Chapman&Taylor, while the design is by Presint Engineering, an important Roman design and integrated services firm.
